In the News: FLBHC During the COVID-19 Pandemic

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center (FLBHC) remains open to serve the community during this uncertain time. FLBHC continues to offer mental health and substance use disorder services to those who are stable from a medical standpoint.

Our Kirk Gimenez interviewed Dr. Jared Gaines, Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Gaines emphasizes the importance of mental health and stated that FLBHC remains open for services such as initial psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individual/family therapy. In response to the pandemic, FLBHC offers telehealth services to enable patients to receive care, while also adhering to social distancing.

Dr. Gaines also mentions the Valor Program, which gives first responders an initial psychological evaluation at no cost.
