Residential Treatment in Fort Lauderdale, FL
At Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center, our inpatient treatment programs for substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders give you a new path forward. Adults (18 and up) and children and adolescents (ages 5 to 17) receive the medical care and support they need to recover from drug addiction and mental health disorders.
Why Choose Us?
Our residential treatment programs for teens and adults in Fort Lauderdale offer:
- No-cost assessments 24/7: A substance use disorder or psychiatric crisis can’t wait. Our caregivers are available around-the-clock to provide no-cost assessments and 24/7 admissions for you or your loved one. We’re there for you when you need us most.
- Continuum of care: We offer inpatient and outpatient programs for adults and adolescents. Once you complete residential treatment, we help you transition to outpatient care, with a focus on reintegrating into family and community life.
- Specialized treatments: We are among only a few behavioral health centers in Broward County offering electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for inpatients. ECT is a highly effective, evidence-based treatment for people with major depression who haven’t found relief with medication or psychotherapy.
- Most insurances accepted: We give you more ways to pay for care. Our treatment center is in-network with most commercial insurance providers. We also accept Medicare and managed Medicaid and offer financial assistance for qualifying patients.

Our 180-bed facility offers a secure environment where people under voluntary and Baker Act status can receive the attentive medical and emotional care they deserve. Our programs for adults and children include:
Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab
The caregivers at our treatment center provide medically supervised detox and intensive rehabilitation for drug addiction and alcohol use disorder. We blend individual, group and family counseling, along with the 12-step treatment model and other therapies. Learn about our addiction treatment program.
Inpatient Mental Health Treatment
If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, schizophrenia or another psychiatric disorder, you’re not alone. And you shouldn’t feel ashamed. Together, we lay the groundwork for managing mental illness and rebuilding a healthy, productive life. Learn more about our mental health treatment program.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Our caregivers help people with dual diagnoses, when substance use and mental health disorders occur together. We believe that treating co-occurring disorders at the same time gives you a better chance for long-term recovery. Learn more about our dual diagnosis treatment program.
Residential Treatment Center for Children and Teens
A dedicated child psychiatrist oversees our residential treatment program for children and teens (ages 5 to 17). We have experience helping young patients with severe depression, suicidal tendencies, substance use disorders and other behavioral disorders. Physical, sexual or verbal abuse is often at the root of these illnesses.
Our family-focused approach to care means we involve parents, siblings and other loved ones in the treatment process. After residential treatment, we help children and their families develop the skills they need to rebuild connections at home, at school and in the community. HOPE Program for Older Adults
Older adults (60 and older) have unique needs and challenges when it comes to mental health disorders. Common conditions in this population include depression, anxiety and substance use disorder. Often, mental illness is worsened by isolation, a loss of familial and social connections, and chronic health conditions.
Clinicians work closely with individuals, families, nursing facilities and community organizations to help older adults receive the care they need. We provide evaluation, stabilization, medication support and counseling to improve their quality of life. Please note, patients with dementia require a different type of specialized care that we do not provide.
